So to my third Chuck Prophet gig in the last six months. Following his solo appearance in Nottingham last month, Chuck was back with his band The Mission Express in Leeds, and in rampant form as you come to expect with this performer. An healthy crowd turned out in the inner suburbs of Leeds on a monday night and they were served up a treat. Even an unruly member of the audience who had to be escorted out failed to put much of a dampner on proceedings although the incident can be heard refered to during You've Been Gone.
Chuck was as funny as ever, referencing not only the Sex Pistols, but his previous support act Otis Gibbs who perhaps would be best not to listen to Chuck's critique of his blues credentials.
Highlights included an acoustic interlude featuring Summertime Thing and Let Freedom Ring, while the guitar interplay between Chuck and James Deprato is truly mesmerising.
